June Newsletter by Jeff Lynch - Troop Scribe
After May’s camp out that got rained out halfway through it, we looked forward to June’s camp out to Vero Beach. Unfortunately the camp out wasn’t planned for and had to be canceled. The Boomer’s night also was canceled a few days earlier. We finally finished the month with a service project at the United Methodist Church. The Church had a big block party and needed the troop’s help. There were snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn, and balloons that needed to be blown up. We also were in charge of the garbage pick up all night. They needed help at the dunk tank, where we helped get the balls that the people threw at the target. When we got there, we set up canopies and filled coolers with ice. After the party was over, we took down every thing, including the tables and chairs outside. We finished the night by policing the front parking lot and eating area for garbage. We worked from 4-10 PM. It was really fun. Our next camp out is summer camp at Camp Thunder, near Atlanta.
